Industry Awards

The Outstanding Leader Award is given to someone who has demonstrated exemplary leadership and has made a significant impact in the chapter. They have demonstrated support for COMTO's mission and has served as a strong advocate for the communities we serve.

The Game Changer is someone who is able to make a big and impactful effect on something, usually making the difference between one thing happening and another. Typically, though, they are risk-taking, driven, future-focused and visionary thinkers. They often play a pivotal role in promoting change and continuous improvement. Game changers excel at joining the dots and sparking change.

This award recognizes a public agency that, through its policies, guidelines, and actions has consistently provided exemplary support to COMTO “above and beyond” by contributing to and espousing the mission and goals of the organization. The recipient of this award has demonstrated its efforts in promoting economic and workforce development, support of small and emerging businesses, setting benchmarks for leadership – especially during exciting and challenging times; and promoting transportation initiatives.

The Small Business Firm of the Year award recognizes organizations that have demonstrated a strong commitment to the field of transportation and extraordinary competence in a chosen transportation-related field. The recipient of this award is actively engaged in, and strongly supports, COMTO's mission. 

The Emerging Leader Award is given to an individual who has been involved in the transportation industry for fewer than 5 years. This award is presented to an individual who, throughout their affiliation with COMTO, has demonstrated extraordinary competence in a chosen transportation-related field by developing and improving their leadership skills and possesses a strong commitment to the transportation field and community. The individual deserving of this award is one who is inspired to implement self-improvement initiatives and who positively impacts and influences others. The recipient clearly demonstrates a commitment to COMTO's vision, and the transportation industry and community, through extraordinary leadership.
