MEMBERSHIP AND SMALL AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE ADVISORY COUNCIL
Generates ideas as to the recruitment of members and for the development of programs designed to attract additional members and the modification of existing membership eligibility criteria, subject to the review and approval of the board of directors. Increases the number and caliber of S/DBE members of COMTO and advising the board of directors on the identification and prospective action plan regarding issues important to small and disadvantaged business enterprises.
EDUCATION, INTERNSHIP & SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
Provides scholarship opportunities for high school and college graduates. Responsible for educating members on the scholarship application process, marketing and promoting scholarships via the COMTO website, local chapter/media, colleges/universities/high schools and word-or-mouth.
EVENTS AND FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE
Plans, coordinates, promotes and execute chapter events. Responsible for the National local fundraising effort.
Provides strategic, creative, results-oriented communication solutions that increase awareness and support activities of COMTO’s Washington state chapter.
LEGISLATIVE ADVISORY COUNCIL
Monitors and reviews legislative activity related to the transportation industry. Cultivates and maintains proactive relationships with local, state and federal officials. Advocates and conveys COMTO’s positions on legislation. Solicits the support of elected officials for COMTO’s mission and programs. Increase government’s awareness of the industry. Increases the number and caliber of COMTO members active in the political and legislative arenas. Serve as advisory council to the executive board of directors.
